The dollar is strong in the morning in Tokyo. As European time approaches, the yen weakens and the dollar strengthens. From NY to London fixes, the yen is strong and the dollar is weak. At the close in New York, the yen appreciated against the dollar across the board.
The daily balance changed to dollar/yen selling 145.28, pound buying 1.2578, Aussie buying 0.6585, euro yen selling 156.81, pound yen selling 182.75, and moved to an overnight position.
*Euro selling at 1.0786 and pound selling at 1.2553 have been cancelled.
Dollar selling accelerated after Chairman Powell's statement that ''We discussed the timing of interest rate cuts at today's meeting.''
