The world's billionaires and the reasons for their success |
Amida, thank you for joining us today. First, please introduce yourself. |
| | | Gogonyan |
|
| Nice to meet you. I started programming in 2010, and began investing in 2015 as well. I offer investment-related products, and I also apply my own products to my portfolio. |
|
| Interesting. What sparked your initial interest in investing? |
| |
 | | Amida |
| Around 2015, I read many articles about the success of billionaires around the world. 90% of them were related to investments like stocks or FX. That was when I started learning about investing. Furthermore, I realized I could apply my programming skills to this field. |
|
| Did you consider other financial products or methods before starting FX? |
| |
| Yes, I started with the U.S. stock market at first. With my technical background, I used technical analysis. I tried various methods using technical indicators and pure price action, and experienced many failures. |
|
The existence of legendary traders completely changed my mindset |
 | | Amida |
| Among those experiences, there was an event that completely changed my trading mindset. It was meeting the legendary trader Jesse Livermore's "breakout method." After achieving a certain level of success, I tested this method in the FX market and confirmed its efficacy. I also felt it could be applied to cryptocurrencies. |
|
| What are your goals in investing and the things you keep in mind? |
| |
 | | Amida |
| To grow investments over the long term. I don't cling to short-term losses or growth; I ignore them. If assets grow 10-30% per year, I consider it a big success and am satisfied with that level of profit. |
|
| Could you share a successful investing experience? |
| |
| From 2020 onward, I have achieved about 30% annual steady growth. However, the first 2-3 years included losses. Later, by utilizing tools I developed, I gradually started to profit and am now where I am. |
|
| What did you focus on or what strategies contributed to your success? |
| |
 | | Amida |
| A strategy that uses the tools I developed, eliminates emotions from trading, and aims to improve win rate. Because I believe trading is a combination of “statistical probability” and human emotion. By focusing on breakout methods as the core and combining with other tools, I am able to achieve more effective trading. |
|
Three years of continuous failures. The cause was overtrading influenced by emotions. |
| Could you tell us about your trading failures? |
| |
| I was constantly driven by FOMO (fear of missing out) and overtraded, leading to failures in the first 2-3 years. The cause was the mindset of not wanting to admit a loss in the market, which led to trading based on emotion.Even when incurring losses, I sometimes refused to accept them and tried to chase the returns.
|
|
| What did you learn from those failures? |
| |
 | | Amida |
| The biggest lesson is that “you lose when you are controlled by emotions.” Therefore, I decided to view investing as a mathematical probability and build strategies that are not swayed by emotions. |
|
| Specifically, what actions or measures did you take? |
| |
 | | Amida |
| I leveraged my programming skills to develop my own trading system based on years of experience. I focused on building a framework that would be stable over long periods like 5, 10, or even 20 years, not just short-term success. |
|
| What changes occurred in your current investment style and risk management? |
