Masashi's approach to investing began in2003, starting with low-priced stocks—so-called

penny stocks—purchasing cheap shares and aiming for gains of tens of percent.

The results of penny stock investing were overall positive, but

the biggest factor was learning from investment peers he met online, especially a person who had worked in trading at a securities company.

Around 2008, amid the Lehman Shock, many investment peers moved from individual stocks to FX, including the person from the securities company.

Among them,many peers shifted to FX as a result.

They moved because the stock market was in a severely harsh situation, and FX offered much better capital efficiency.
