[Important prerequisite ⑤] For those considering operating with a micro account
Hello, this is Yoko.
The fifth installment of the serialization “Rising Tide For Those Considering Purchase: Important Prerequisites” is,For Those Considering Trading in a Micro Account. To those who want to test with a small amount of capital, Kenji has actually conducted a verification with a micro account (GOLDmicro).
1. What is a micro account
The micro account (GOLDmicro) has 1 lot equal to 1 ounce. It is the same size as 0.01 lots in the standard account. The minimum lot is 0.1 (1/10 ounce), so you can operate RisingTide atone-tenth the size of the standard account.
In testing, InitialLot=0.1 (one-tenth the size of the standard account) was used. The required funds are also roughly one-tenth as well.
2. Assumptions of the test: price history different from the standard account
GOLDmicro and the standard account (GOLD#) have different price histories and spreads. Even with the same EA, the trading paths diverged from the first week of testing (July 2014). A different timing of a single settlement can significantly alter subsequent results.
Therefore, the standard account results were not directly applied; a separate test was conducted for micro accounts. Also, micro accounts can feel less favorable in spreads. Actual performance may be worse than the test results.
3. If you start from September 1 (standard mode, 0.10 lot)
| Initial Margin | Stop Out | Maximum Drawdown (as % of balance) | Profit/Loss on 9/30 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 130,000 | None | 62% | +17,974 yen |
| 150,000 | None | 54% | +17,974 yen |
| 200,000 | None | 41% | +17,974 yen |
| 260,000 | None | 32% | +17,974 yen |
| 300,000 | None | 28% | +17,974 yen |
Even at 130,000 yen, there was no stop out. However, at 130,000 yen, the unrealized loss expanded to 62% of the balance. The safe threshold is 200,000 yen or more. This corresponds exactly to about 1/10 of the standard account’s “minimum around 1,300,000 yen / recommended 2,600,000 yen.”
4. Results of 12-year test (260,000 yen, 0.10 lot)
| Mode | Total Profit/Loss | PF | Drawdown | Stop Out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (buying-led with selling linkage) | −288,244 yen | 0.79 | 103% | 2026/3/23 08:05 |
| Symmetric・Stable | +1,964,578 yen | 1.88 | 86% | None |
| Symmetric・Aggressive | +2,264,644 yen | 1.83 | 65% | None |
| Symmetric・Aggressive | +2,379,798 yen | 1.86 | 69% | None |
※Started from July 2014 with 260,000 yen and 1:◎000, stop losses turned off. The symmetrical mode multiplier is 1.10, standard mode 1.07.
- In standard mode, it stopped out on March 23, 2026.By that day, positions had accumulated to 46 lots.
- The three symmetric modes passed 12 years with 260,000 yen. However, unrealized losses grew to 86% for Stable, 65% for Aggressive, and 69% for Offensive, with Stable nearing stop-out.
- For all three modes, positions reached the upper limit of 47 lots in March 2020.
This result does not mean “safe at 260,000 yen.”With this price history and this starting time, it merely withstood 260,000 yen. If the starting time or spreads change, the results will change.
5. Estimated required funds (0.10 lot)
Scenario for climbing up to the maximum (47 lots):Around 1,500,000 yen is a guideline
※Over 12 years, the standard mode at 260,000 yen stopped out. 260,000 yen is a figure indicating that there is a case that passed in symmetric mode; it is not a guarantee.
6. Micro account operation settings
- InitialLot=0.1(one-tenth the size of the standard account)
- BrakeLossUSDPer001Lot=180(about 1,800 USD). Because contract sizes differ in micro accounts, leaving the brake at 18,000 would make it about 100 times looser. This setting aligns it with the same ratio as the standard account. Note that the 12-year test was conducted with brake OFF. Activation of the brake was not observed in micro accounts.
- SET files:RT_V206_Micro_Standard.set(standard),RT_V206_Micro_Symmetric_Stable / Positive / Aggressive.set(symmetric 3 modes)
The symmetric mode starting from September 1 has not been tested in micro accounts.
7. Summary
Micro accounts allow small tests. However, this does not mean it is safe with the same funds. With less capital, the scale is smaller, and the proportion of required funds is the same as for the standard account.
There is no guarantee that further declines will not occur. Please start with an amount within your own available funds and avoid overextending yourself.
