Crimson Lotus Dragon 100 Million Yen Challenge Day 4 — dips below 1 million yen, but unrealized profit remains in the positive
The “100万→1億円チャレンジ” has entered its 4th day. On day 3, for the first time since start, the account balance surpassed 1,000,000 yen, but as of the morning of day 4, the balance has fallen below 1,000,000 yen again. Still, the current open positions are in profit. Today, we’ll break down the details.
From day 3 to day 4, gold rose from around $4,380 to around $4,431, then sharply fell to around $4,382, later rebounding to around $4,419, showing a lack of clear direction. Heightened inflation concerns due to tension between the U.S. and Iran and elevated crude prices, along with expectations of a September rate hike by the Fed, create a market with no single decisive factor.
Tonight, August PPI data will be released, and tomorrow CPI for August is due; volatility is likely to continue for a while.
Currently holding 3 buy positions (average entry 4,408.89) and 8 sell positions (average entry 4,407.63), totaling 11 positions, with unrealized profit of +27,677 yen. Today's realized profit remains at ±0 yen, and the account balance is 927,881 yen.
In the mid-day of day 3, I reported the account balance recovered to 1,020,222 yen, but there were moments when it fell below 1,000,000 yen again, now at about 92% of the initial amount. The number of sell positions is currently higher at 8, but since the current price is below the average entry for sells (4,407.63), unrealized gains are present. If the market reverses, these gains can turn into losses. This captures the reality of the challenge: some days rise, some days fall.
